If HyperTerminal is not available, Windows Setup needs to be run and HyperTerminal needs to be checked from the Communications options.

A null-modern communication cable is required as per pinouts below:

The default settings and setup for the CET 5 relay can be set within HyperTerminal as follows.

1) Enter a name for the New Connection eg. CET 5 or Pump No.1

2) Select COM port

3) Set to CET5 serial communications default setting

Ensure the COM port settings match up with the CET5 settings. It is a good practice to set the Windows settings in:

Control_Panel_System_Hardware_Device Manager

When Hyper terminal is run, ensure you make the same settings there as well as it can default to 2400 baud.

4)To change the port settings from the default settings, use the CET5 front panel.
